With Individual Coverage, individuals can choose from more than 1,000 benefit combinations and make choices based on their particular needs and budget. You can customize one of the following plans:

Blue Advantage® – With Blue Advantage®, members have access to many of the best doctors, hospitals and specialists in North Carolina .
Blue Cross and Blue Shield
of North Carolina's provider networks are large and member copayments and coinsurance are predictable.1

Dental Blue® – With Dental Blue, members don’t pay a deductible for check-ups or diagnostic and preventive services. Check-ups and cleanings are covered twice per benefit period. Plus, members can visit any licensed dentist they choose. There are no “in-network” restrictions.

Medicare Supplement – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) offers dependable supplemental coverage for people age 65 and older. BCBSNC offers nine of the 10 Medicare supplemental plans, so applicants can choose the one that best fits their needs and their budget.

Short Term Health Care – offers a package of benefits similar to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina’s (BCBSNC) standard health care plans. Members determine how long they will need coverage—30 days, 45 days, 60 days or 90 days.

Blue Options HSASM – Pairs a high-deductible Blue OptionsSM plan with a health savings account (Blue Options HSASM) and offers lower premiums than traditional plans. Both employers and employees can make tax-free contributions to the HSA. Members use HSA funds to pay out-of-pocket health care expenses and enjoy negotiated provider rates, even before meeting their deductible.
